A New Year provides an opportunity to write a new 365-page book.

Endeavor to write a good one.

As the husband of an English teacher, and the product of a Jesuit education, our house is filled with books and now, a robust online Audible library on my phone, too. I love the quote equating a new year to the opportunity to be an author of your story. Sometimes I find myself drawn to books about a totally new subject matter, sometimes I go for an old classic that I haven’t read in decades, or a familiar genre I have read dozens of times. All can be equally enjoyable, stimulating and relevant! Sometimes a story is incredibly familiar in a comforting way and at times, a “new” reading sparks different thoughts than before.

As I reflect back on 2025, it marks a quarter of a century of working with some of you while we continue to forge new relationships that we hope will continue far into the future. While we as individuals, families and businesses change over time, so have the insurance and financial industries. As change abounds, we hope there is something familiar and constant about working with the team at Magis that you value. While insurers’ appetites change, premiums fluctuate and solutions vary, we are committed to living into our name “Magis… to do more” to help protect what is important to you, rooted in an informed and independent approach.

We are keenly aware that what we do is thanks to your confidence in our work. That confidence enabled success that allowed us to continue to support worthwhile work so that people can live better lives in various communities. Last year, we shared our time, talent, and treasure with non-profits committed to challenging work in varied areas of service – from community health services to arts education, historical preservation to education & development of the young and not so young, critical nutrition and community safety – all of which send their thanks to you for enabling our support!

As I look forward to 2026, I hope that you can find the right balance of remembering the past and those that supported you and your community, taking time in the present to make memories and serve others, and continuing to invest in the futures of your family, friends, and neighbors so their outlook is as bright as you have experienced.

Finally, be well. Be kind. Sometimes, just BE… where you are needed!
